An insulting sign at the trailhead talked about how the CDT is gentle, well maintained, and good for families, while the 14'ers are rugged beasts not for the faint of heart. In reality, the trail up to the summit was the easiest tread in days, and as soon as the CDT left the summit the trail all but disappeared on to a knife edge.
